Father Christmas Lands 2023 Event

On the 10th of December 2023, Father Christmas is scheduled to land at the museum and welcome our visitors on board the unique ‘Nimrod Grotto’.

This year, Santa’s little helpers have wasted no time in preparing for his arrival; with the event offering gifts to children, festive lights, warm drinks, and light refreshments among the usual museum displays, gift shop, tombola, and open aircraft.

Once you have booked your grotto visit, you will receive a boarding card to join Father Christmas at a designated time, leaving you free to explore the museum or to be entertained in our departure lounge.

Once your seat number is called, you will climb on board our Hawker Siddeley Nimrod Aircraft, XV255, where Father Christmas will greet you, offering a small gift and ensuring he takes note of what everyone wants for that special Christmas Day!

Please note: Event tickets are sold on the gate only on a first-come first-serve basis.

The event will be open between 11 & 6pm with last admission one hour prior to closure.

All money raised will go towards the Museum’s development fund, which supports the maintenance of exhibits and allows the museum to develop future projects such as making the site more accessible plus a much-needed hangar to house some of our prized aircraft.

Admission charges apply which gives access to the museum site as a whole.

Adult Admission: £7, Concession Admission: £5, Child Admission: £6.50

Additional fees may apply for open aircraft and cockpit visits.
